Russell dominates Martin

Former featherweight title challenger ‘Mr.’ Gary Russell Jr. (25-1, 14 KOs) was way too fast for Christopher ‘S.D. Kid’ Martin (28-5-3, 9 KOs), scoring an easy ten round shutout on Saturday night at the Little Creek Casino Resort in Shelton, Washington. Martin was game, but didn’t have the tools to present any problems for Russell. Scores were 100-90, 100-90, 99-91.

In the 12-round main event, WBA interim featherweight champion Jesus Andres “El Jinete” Cuellar (26-1, 20 KOs) scored a fifth round KO to retain his belt against Ruben “Canelito” Tamayo (23-5-4, 15 KOs). Southpaw Cellar dropped Tamayo twice in round four and finished him with a body shot in round five. Time was 1:40.

Unbeaten jr middleweight Julian ‘J Rock’ Williams (18-0-1, 11 KOs) scored an eighth round KO over Jamar Freeman (13-4-2, 7 KOs). Williams dropped Freeman twice in round seven before finishing him in the eighth. Time was :29.

Unbeaten super middleweight Julius ‘The Chef’ Jackson (19-0, 14 KOs) scored a ninth round stoppage of Jonathan Nelson (20-2, 9 KOs). Jackson dropped Nelson in rounds one and eight before referee Jack Reiss waved it off at :28 of round nine.

Unbeaten middleweight Tony Harrison (19-0, 15 KOs) annihilated Tyrone ‘Young Gun’ Brunson (22-4-1, 21 KOs) in the first round.

Welterweight prospect Fabian ‘TNT’ Maidana (4-0, 3 KOs), younger brother of former world champion Marcos Maidana scored a second round TKO over Dustin Caplinger (2-7, 1 KO).
