Sartison is Stripped of WBA’s Regular Title at 168

While Andre Ward holds the WBA's "super champion" title at super middleweight, Dimitri Sartison held the "standard" title - that was until the latest set of published ratings where Sartison is stripped of the title and ranked # 3.

Sartison defended the title in July of last year and then a defense vs Brian Magee in Northern Ireland late last year fell through. Finally, a unification contest against Robert Stieglitz was on for April 9 but Dimitri announced in late March that he suffered a bad knee injury. Lately, there been some rumors of a defense against Stas Kashtanov in Ukraine in August. However, Sartison is now an ex-champion. A resolution is apparently expected from the WBA in a day or two with an explanation on the situation.
