Heavyweight Andy “The Destroyer” Ruiz Jr. (23-0, 17 KOs) remained unbeaten with a ten round unanimous decision over former world champion Sergei “White Wolf” Liakhovich (26-6, 16 KOs) on Saturday night at the Celebrity Theatre in Phoenix, Arizona. Ruiz was the aggressor and landed the harder punches but Liakhovich never looked in danger of being stopped. Scores were 98-92, 96-94, 99-91 as Ruiz defended his NABF and WBO intercontinental titles.

Two-time Mexican Olympian Oscar Valdez (15-0, 13 KOs) continued to impress with a fourth round TKO over Jean Sotelo (19-14-2, 10 KOs). Sotelo couldn’t continue after four rounds of abuse.

Unbeaten light heavyweight Trevor McCumby moved to 18-0 with 14 KOs after a sixth round TKO over veteran Milton Nunez (28-12-1, 25 KOs). McCumby dropped Nunez in rounds three and four with body shots. Nunez’ corner kept their man on the stool after five rounds of punishment.

Unbeaten lightweight southpaw Daniel Echeverria (15-0, 13 KOs) pounded out a one-sided six round unanimous decision over rugged Noe Lopez (19-12, 10 KOs). Scores were 60-54, 60-54, 59-55.

Undefeated super middleweight David Benavidez (7-0, 6 KOs) scored a first round knockdown, then went the distance for the first time in his career, taking a six round unanimous decision over previously unbeaten Azamat Zuzueta (3-1, 3 KOs). Scores were 60-53 across the board. Benavidez is the brother of newly crowned WBA interim super lightweight champion Jose Benavidez.

Unbeaten super bantamweight Joet Gonzalez (8-0, 3 KOs) scored a third round TKO over journeyman Jaime Gutierrez (4-10, 10 KOs). Gonzalez scored two knockdowns in round three to end it.
