If his predictions are correct the Bradford switch hitter – trained by the Ingle family at the fabled Wincobank gym in Sheffield – will be extended beyond the fifth round for only the second time in 17 fights by his Hamburg based opponent.
“I have been watching videos of Kotelnik,” explained Witter, who last time out dominated the world-class Lovemore N’Dou in Hollywood. “He is a talented operator. He has excellent hand speed, decent power

...figure him out. I don't know if he's southpaw or orthodox, but I know I'm a long way from home and I'm hungry so nobody will beat me.
"I want to be in the fights the people want to see me in, but right now I'm focused on Karmazin. I know he's a tough cookie because I always fight the tough cookies that come my

It is a fight that has revenge written all over it although Cotto thinks otherwise. Cotto downplays the grudge factor, stating: “I can’t think of it as personal. I’m a professional. I have a job to do. The Olympic chapter is over. Now it’s time for a new chapter.” But Abdullaev believes there is a lot to learn from rereading the previous chapter of their meeting...

Kostya Tszyu: "Everyone can see he is open to the right hand and my brain is like a computer and I have planned for this and if you watch me concentrate when I fight I do not blink. I just watch and wait for the right moment and then press the button. The good thing about my career is that I always capitalise on my opportunities. So if Ricky throws lots of punches this is an advantage but also a disadvantage because it gives me an opportunity also to capitalise on a weakness, mistake or opportunity. This is going to be good for me..."

- Is this the biggest fight of your career so far?
Floyd Mayweather: "On paper, yeah. But he ain't on the level of a Jose Luis Castillo or Diego Corrales. Is he better? I don't think so. You gotta realize how this guy has become a "world" champion. You gotta remember that he got that belt because they stripped Kostya Tszyu of the belt and let him (Gatti) fight for a vacant title. I don't feel like my job is complete until I beat Kostya Tszyu..."

- Can you give us some thoughts on your career defining shut-out against Felix "Tito" Trinidad?
Winky Wright: "I think this fight will do a lot for my career because it lets everyone know that I am one of the very best out here. He was considered one of the best and I considered him to be one of the best, so now that I beat him, they have no choice but to put me up there..."

If he defeats Lamon Brewster for the WBO heavyweight title Saturday, heavyweight Andrew Golota knows who he wants next. "I want Ruiz," says Golota with no hesitation. "R-U-I-Z. I've never been robbed like that [Golota lost a unanimous decision to Ruiz on Nov. 13 in a fight where he dropped Ruiz twice, plus the WBA champion had a point deduction]. I hope the judges [for the Brewster fight] are not from New York. It was unbelievable for me. I still can't imagine how I lost that fight. It's so unbelievable. Ruiz has nine lives, like a cat. Nobody can destroy him."

Ricky Hatton: "He is all about punching power and my game is about pressure and lots of punches, so I'll be swarming and subtle, staying cautious and using good defence. Tszyu is 35 and lots of boxers get better with age, but he doesn't like to fight at a high tempo and prefers to be precise. Age could be a factor - he has gone very few rounds in the last four years and that could tell. I'll wait for him to slow before I go through the gears..."

- Do you wish you were fighting for a title?
Felix Trinidad: "I feel great leading up to this fight. My plan has always been to fight the best possible opponents. This has been our plan since I returned and Winky was the only one brave enough to challenge me and I give him credit for calling me out. A championship fight will come as a result of my victory Saturday night..."
